Belle Driscoll

December 4, 1916 — June 5, 2015

Belle Rita Driscoll was born December 4, 1916 to Hector and Genevieve (Meron) Brule at Slayton, Minnesota. She moved to Faribault, Minnesota at a young age where she began her education. When she was ten years old her family moved to Amiret, Minnesota where she attended country school through the sixth grade. The family then moved to Marshall where she graduated in 1934. Belle was united in marriage to Daniel Driscoll on December 27, 1937 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall, Minnesota. Their union was blessed with eight children and 71 years of life together. The couple farmed near Russell and Green Valley, Minnesota until they moved to the Driscoll home farm at Russell to live and work from 1944 – 1972. In 1972, they sold the farm to their son and built a new home on another farm. The couple moved to Boulder Estates in Marshall in 2004. Daniel Driscoll died on October 19, 2009 at which time Belle continued to live at Boulder Estates. In March of 2015, she became a resident at Boulder Creek where she died peacefully the morning of June 5, 2015 at the age of 98 years.

Belle was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Dionysius Catholic Church in Tyler, Minnesota and had served as a member of the Catholic Church Women. She enjoyed playing cards and was a member of a neighborhood Bunco club. She loved gardening, flowers, square dancing, sewing, and traveling. Belle and Dan had wintered in Mesa, Arizona for 22 years. She especially enjoyed all times spent with her beloved family.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jim (and Kathy) of Chula Vista, California, Connie (and Bill) Jones of Henderson, Minnesota, Don (and Kay) of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, Bill (and Barb) of Russell, Minnesota, Ken (and Rae) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Colleen (and Chuck) Nelson of Tyler, Minnesota, Kathy Lundahl (and MikeTown) of Fridley, Minnesota and Carmen Derynck (and Clint Vos) of Lawton, Iowa; 27 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; brother, Leonard (and Linda) Brule of Peyton, Colorado; sisters, Geneva DePyper of Paynesville, Minnesota, and Bonita Collins of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Daniel; two grandchildren; and three brothers, Bernard, Dillard, and Millard Brule; and one sister-in-law, Eileen Brule. Blessed be her memory.
