Carrie Boom

CARRIE BOOM was born on April 19, 1938 to Albert and Fannie (Reurink) Van Maanen in Luverne, Minnesota. She was raised in Beaver Creek, Minnesota and graduated from Beaver Creek High School in 1956. From 1957 to 1972 she was employed at the Luverne Community Hospital. On October 27, 1972 Carrie was united in marriage to Cliff Boom. The employment of her husband moved them to different areas. On August 24, 1976 the family moved to Slayton, Minnesota. On November 1, 1978 they moved to Luverne, Minnesota. The family then returned to Beaver Creek on August 1, 1985. Carrie loved being a stay at home mom to their children. When their youngest went to school, Carrie took a job at Luverne Truck Equipment where she was employed from 1990 until her retirement in April of 2000. On Wednesday, May 6, 2015, Carrie passed away at the age of 77 years and 17 days.

Carrie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Beaver Creek. She enjoyed attending different sporting events that her children and grandchildren were involved in. She enjoyed time spent with her family.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Cliff Boom of Beaver Creek; three children, Randy and his wife Brenda Van Maanen of Hills, Minnesota, Rhonda Meester of Beaver Creek, and Ranae and her husband Jason Johnson of Luverne; six grandchildren, Jared and his wife Kristen Van Maanen of Hills, Justin and his wife Amanda Van Maanen of Hills, Dalton and Ashton Meester of Beaver Creek, and Chase and Sydne Johnson of Luverne; four great-grandchildren, Tess and Nate Van Maanen of Hills, Jackson and Samantha Van Maanen of Hills; a brother, James Van Maanen of Beaver Creek. She was preceded in death by her parents.
