On June 2, 1973, she was united in marriage to Steve Lange at First Lutheran Church in Pipestone. After their marriage, she worked at Lange’s Caf and was blessed with three children. After the two divorced, Cindy attended Minnesota West in Pipestone for cosmetology and also became a Certified Nurse’s Assistant. She worked at the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone for several years. She and Tom Ihlen were blessed with a son, Cody. After leaving Good Sam in 2002, she and her daughter, Kyley, purchased Jasper Lanes in Jasper, Minnesota. In 2011, Cindy and Kyley bought The Trosky Bar in Trosky, Minnesota which they owned and operated together. In February of 2014, they purchased the Stonewall Bar and Grill in Jasper. On Wednesday, May 18, 2016, Cindy passed away with her children by her side at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls at the age of 61 years, 7 months and 3 days.

Cindy attended First Lutheran Church in Pipestone. Cindy was a hard worker and a kind person, always one to think about others. She enjoyed baking and chocolate chip ice cream. Cindy loved to be outdoors, especially camping, watching rodeos or spending time watching a race at the racetrack. She enjoyed shopping – mostly for jeans and boots. Most importantly, Cindy loved family gatherings and cherished the time she spent with her kids.
