Dale Huebner

DALE ORISS HUEBNER was born to Herbert and Genevieve (Willey) Huebner on September 24, 1932 in Pipestone, Minnesota. He attended country school and then Pipestone High School. After his graduation in 1950, he helped on the family farm. On November 20, 1952, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. When he was discharged from the service on November 3, 1954, he returned to Pipestone and continued farming. On October 12, 1957, he was united in marriage to Janice Johnson at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone. Following their marriage, they lived on the home place in Troy Township where Dale continued to farm. During this time, he also worked at the Pipestone Vault and Monument Company. In 1989, they moved into Pipestone and Dale became employed at M&M Distributing. When he suffered from an accident, he was forced to take time off to recover. From 1992 to 1994, he worked for Rupp Construction. Beginning in 1995, he worked for Land O Lakes until his retirement in 1997. In December, 1997, Dale suffered from a stroke. On November 12, 2007, he became a resident of the Ashton Care Center in Pipestone. When this nursing home closed, Dale became a resident of the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone. On Tuesday, April 23, 2013, he entered the Pipestone County Medical Center where he died that same day at the age of 80 years, six months and 29 days.

Dale was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone. He was baptized in 1952 at Peace United Methodist Church in Pipestone and confirmed in 1960 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Michael Boock American Legion Post 6 where he served as Past Commander. For many years, he enjoyed bowling on the three-eye league. He also enjoyed fishing, woodworking and refinishing furniture.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Jan Huebner of Pipestone, Minnesota; two daughters, Laurie Link and her husband Dave of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Jacquelyn Wallin and her husband Rick of River Falls, Wisconsin; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Virgil Huebner of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Gordon Huebner of Pipestone, Minnesota; and two sisters, Helen Krogman of Luverne, Minnesota, and Margaret Erickson of Pipestone, Minnesota. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert and Lyle Huebner; his son-in-law, Bill Molde; two brothers-in-law, Larry Krogman and Loyal Erickson; and his sister-in-law, Shirley Huebner.
