Evelyn Forman

September 1, 1917 — May 17, 2011

EVELYN DOROTHY FORMAN was born to Antone and Olga (Zemlicka) Lupinek on September 1, 1917 in Milbank, South Dakota. She was raised on her family farm near Twin Brooks, South Dakota where she attended country school and then Milbank High School. After her high school graduation in 1935, she attended Northern College. Upon completion of her education, she taught at a country school for a year. On May 4, 1938, she was united in marriage to Floyd Forman in Milbank. Following their marriage, they settled on a farm in Lone Rock Township, west of Pipestone, Minnesota. There they farmed until Floyd’s retirement in January, 1973 when they moved into Pipestone. Floyd preceded her in death on August 29, 1974. After his death, Evelyn became employed as a teacher’s aide at Brown Elementary School in Pipestone until she retired. In 1987, she moved to Dallas, Texas to be close to family. She lived there until November, 2005 when she moved to Bemidji, Minnesota to live with her daughter Bonnie. On June 1, 2009, she became a resident of the Sundial Manor Nursing Home in Bristol, South Dakota where she died on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the age of 93 years, eight months and 16 days.

While living in Pipestone County, Evelyn was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her fun-loving manner, and for teaching us to persevere when times were tough. She was a typical farm wife of her generation, helping with chores, planting and harvesting a huge garden, teaching Sunday School and Bible School for many years, and as a leader of 4-H. She still had time for family and hosted many get-togethers through the years. She also loved reading.

She is lovingly remembered by five children, Bonnie Beaulieu of Bemidji, Minnesota, Linda Love and her husband Steve of Dallas, Texas, Floyd Forman, Jr., and his wife Donna of Manning, Iowa, Kathy Stuck and her husband Lauren of Aberdeen, South Dakota, and D’Ann Forman and her husband Cesar Miranda of Plano, Texas; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her grandson, Tyler Stuck; two sisters; and four brothers.
