Kathy Fredricks

August 19, 1942 — February 23, 2017

Kathleen Ann Anderson Fredricks was born August 19, 1942 at Fort. Snelling Army Hospital in Minneapolis Minnesota, to James and Louise (Hughes) Anderson. As a child she developed vision loss which eventually led to blindness. She endeavored to cope with her disability, and graduated from Roosevelt High School in the spring of 1961. In the fall of that same year she attended the School for the Blind in Minneapolis. It was there that she met and fell in love with another blind student, Arnold Fredricks. They were married January 13, 1962 at the Church of God in Minneapolis. They made their home in Lake Benton, MN, and for five years in Owatonna, while Arnie attended Pillsbury Baptist Bible College. To this union three daughters were born Ranea, Dyann and Lynda. Kathy accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and faithfully served in ministry with her husband. She dedicated her life to being a wife and a mother to the children that God had given her. She loved to bake, go for walks and spend time outside enjoying the sounds of Gods’ creation and most of all loved the time that she could spend with her three daughters and her five grandchildren. Kathy and Arnie had 53 years of marriage faithfully serving the Lord. They were members of Victory Christian Church in Balaton MN. In August of last year Kathy waged a valiant battle against lung cancer and is now more than a conqueror through Christ. Kathy went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, February, 23 2017 with her family by her bedside, at the Sunrise Manor in Tyler MN.

She is survived by her daughters, Ranea, (Jeff) Johnson, Dyann, (Pat) McCarthy of Lake Benton and Lynda (Mike) Hulsebus of White Sd. Five grandchildren. Shelby McCarthy, Ben, Abbie and Caleb Hulsebus and Bobbi Jo Johnson. Sister Janet Anderson and brother Paul Anderson of Aubrey Texas. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arnold Fredricks, and her parents.
Blessed and eternal be her memory.
