Wallace "Wally" Jorgensen

July 26, 1930 — February 9, 2018

WALLACE “WALLY” WAYNE JORGENSEN was born on July 26, 1930 to Anton and Christina (Larson) Jorgensen in Tyler, Minnesota. Wally graduated from Tyler High School and attended West Central School of agriculture in Morris, Minnesota. After his time in Morris, Wally moved to Minneapolis in 1948 where he began working as a surveyor. He continued this until he became a carpenter in 1949 and continued working until 1951. In 1952, Wally enlisted in the United States Army and served his country until he was honorably discharged in December of 1953. He moved to Denver, Colorado and began working at Western Airlines on April 26, 1956. In 1986 Western merged into Delta airlines. Wally retired from Delta after 35 years. Wally then moved back to Minnesota and purchased a home in Pipestone, Minnesota. In his later years, Wally was moved to the Slayton Rehab and Healthcare Center in Slayton, Minnesota where he passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018 at the age of 87 years, 6 months, and 14 days.

He was a member of the Danebod Lutheran Church in his home town of Tyler, Minnesota. Wally was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Denver Broncos, and became an even greater Denver Broncos fan after he went hunting with John Elway. Above all else, Wally enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and his faithful companion, Blondie, his yellow Labrador retriever.

Wally is lovingly remembered by one sister, Eunice Trout of Gaylord, Minnesota; many beloved nieces and nephews; and his “adopted son,” Fred Paulsen of Hotchkiss, Colorado. Wally was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers; and his other sisters.
