William "Bill" Wolfswinkle

WILLIAM JOHN WOLFSWINKLE was born on November 29, 1950 to John and Henrietta “Etta” (Bouman) Wolfswinkle in Tyler, Minnesota. Bill was raised on the family farm near Woodstock, Minnesota and was baptized and confirmed at the First Presbyterian Church in Holland, Minnesota. He received his education at the Woodstock Elementary School and later the Pipestone High School, graduating with the class of 1968. In 1969, Bill enlisted in the United States Army where he spent time in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1973 and at that time, returned to Pipestone. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Dehler at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lake Wilson, Minnesota. Following their marriage, they made their home north of Pipestone in Grange Township. Bill worked on vehicles for a while, but his main jobs were custom harvesting and farming. In 2010, Bill was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis; he died from complications of end stage MS on Monday, September 01, 2014 at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, having lived to reach the age of 63 years, 9 months and 2 days.

In earlier years, Bill spent many days playing cards with his friends and in later years, he passed the time watching television. Bill enjoyed his daily lunches with his mother, Etta and spending time with his family, especially his three nieces.

Bill is survived by his mother, Etta Wolfswinkle of Pipestone; one brother, Wes (Deb) Wolfswinkle of Pipestone; three nieces: Lexi (Clint Ridley) Wolfswinkle of Sturgis, South Dakota, Dana (Rylan Heesacker) Wolfswinkle of Mesa, Arizona and Vanessa (Jared Hillard) Wolfswinkle of Pipestone. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn and his father, John.
