Albertha Joan Klein

ALBERTHA JOAN KLEIN was born on August 18, 1936 to Albert and Johanna (Ver Mulm) Gerritsen in Rock Valley, Iowa. She was raised and attended school in that area as well. Albertha graduated from Rock Valley High School.

On January 11, 1956 she was united in marriage to Adrian Klein at the First Reformed Church in Rock Valley. They made their first home in Sioux Center, Iowa where Adrian was employed. They later moved and farmed south of Jasper, Minnesota. Later on they moved back to Rock Valley where they lived for a time until moving to Pipestone, Minnesota in 1967. They owned and operated Klein’s Tractor Salvage in Pipestone until their retirement. In August of 2016, Adrian and Albertha moved to Ridgeview Estates where she passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at the age of 83 years, two months, and 16 days.

Albertha was a member of the Pipestone Christian Reformed Church. She was baptized and made profession of faith in the First Reformed Church of Rock Valley, Iowa. She enjoyed doing puzzles, playing cards, crocheting, making crafts, and spending time at the lake. She enjoyed spending time at McDonalds with her many good friends. She loved her family very much. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren which were all special to her each one in their own way.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Adrian of Pipestone; two sons, Terry of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Greg (Linda) of Pipestone; three grandsons; five granddaughters; 17 great-grandchildren; ones sister, Linda Van Otterloo of Rock Valley, Iowa; one sister-in-law, Colane Gerritsen of Rock Valley, Iowa; and one brother-in-law, Jim Klein of Luverne, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her son, Jeff Klein; her parents; one brother, Don Gerritsen; one daughter-in-law, Lori Klein; four sisters-in-law, Dorothy, Geraldine, and Bertha Klein, and Alice Langstraat; and three brothers-in-law, Sam and Clarence Klein, and Fred Langstraat.
