Arnold Stueven

September 29, 1921 — April 20, 2011

ARNOLD HENRY STUEVEN was born to Will and Anna (Stueven) Stueven on September 29, 1921 on the family farm near Boyden, Iowa. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith. When he was two years old, he moved with his family to a farm in Troy Township of Pipestone County, Minnesota where he was raised and attended country school in District #10. During this time, he was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone. After completing his education at Pipestone High School, he helped his father farm. Later he was employed as a carpenter for Gramsted Lumber Company near Hardwick, Minnesota. In 1949, he moved to Rochester, Minnesota where he worked on his own building houses in that area. After his retirement in 1983, he returned to the family farm near Pipestone. Ten years later he moved into a house in Pipestone. Recently, Arnold was admitted to the Pipestone County Medical Center in Pipestone. Following that stay in the hospital, he became a resident of the Edgebrook Care Center in Edgerton, Minnesota on March 22, 2011. On Wednesday, April 20, 2011, he died at Edgebrook at the age of 89 years, six months and 21 days.

Arnold was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone. Throughout his years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is lovingly remembered by three sisters, Esther Veldhuizen and her husband Arnold of Pipestone, Minnesota, Lucille Bauman of Ihlen, Minnesota, and Orline McFadden and her husband Bill of Lake Havasu, Arizona; two sisters-in-law, Ann Stueven and Lois Stueven, both of Pipestone, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Herbert Stueven and Ervin Stueven; and one brother-in-law, Darrold Bauman.
