BEATRICE MURIEL ROGNESS was born March 24, 1937 to Melvin and Ilmi (Pesola) Rousu in Leaf Lake Townsip, Ottertail County, Minnesota. At an early age, her family moved to a farm near New York Mills, Minnesota. She was raised there and attended school, graduating from high school in 1955. As both of her parents were from large families in the area, Bea enjoyed all of the aspects of a large family; helping garden, feeding and delivering meals, being with family and gathering together. Following school, Bea moved to Minneapolis with three of her best friends. There she took a job at Honeywell in the job costing department where she worked for the next ten years. While on a night out at the Crystal Ballroom in New Hope, Minnesota, Bea met Michael Eiter. The two began dating and in August of 1958 they were married. The couple lived the next number of years in the Twin Cities area and was blessed with four children. In the fall of 1965, the family moved to Luverne, Minnesota. At this time, Bea worked as a homemaker to their four children. In 1968 she began working for Tri-State Insurance as a statistician in their accounting department and worked there for 34 years until her retirement. Bea and Mike divorced while in Luverne. Bea would eventually meet Darwin Rogness and in November 1975, the couple was married. In addition to their children and work, the couple enjoyed motorcycling along with camping. Darwin preceded Bea in death on November 7, 2010. Bea continued to reside in her home on N. Spring St. in Luverne where she was known in the neighborhood for shoveling her own sidewalks and mowing her lawn, even this past season. On Wednesday, April 28, 2021, Bea died peacefully in her home surrounded by family at the age of 84 years, one month and four days.

Bea was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne. She enjoyed puzzles, bingo, and playing all kinds of cards with her friends. She always took an interest to anything with numbers. She was an avid reader and had an extensive collection of books authored by Danielle Steele. She also enjoyed taking trips to the Royal River Casino and Grand Falls Casino. Bea loved spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Whenever she was with them or was talking to someone about them, she would light up with excitement and joy. She also loved animals, especially her dog, Daisy. Her family will dearly remember her traits of loyalty, patience, steadfastness and selflessness.

Bea is lovingly survived by her three children, Teresa (Tim) Perisic of Savage, Minnesota, Craig (Mary Beth) Eiter of Prior Lake, Minnesota, Sheila (Jay) Steensma of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; four step-children, David (Louise) Rogness of Luverne, Steve (Robin) Rogness of Stow, Ohio, Rick (Tali) Rogness of Mesa, Arizona, and Linda (Steve) DeSplinter of Jasper, Minnesota; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren (with another on the way); a sister, Barbara Berend of Perham, Minnesota; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Eiter; husband, Darwin Rogness; parents, Melvin and Ilmi Rousu; and sister, Alice Patton.
