Beverly Devries

August 11, 1942 — October 5, 2020

Beverly Ann Plasier was born to Burnett and Angeline Plasier on August 11, 1942 in Orange City, Iowa. The oldest of three, she was raised in Hull, Iowa where she attended Hull High School. Her's was the first class to graduate from the newly formed Boyden-Hull High School in 1960. Beverly attended Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa where she was very active in the vocal music program, travelling across the nation to perform.

On August 2, 1961, Beverly was united in marriage to Glenn DeVries. They made their home in Orange City, Alton and Hartley, Iowa. Beverly was employed as a bookkeeper for a local drug store. In 1986, Beverly and Glenn moved to Phoenix, Arizona. There, she was employed by a large legal firm. In 2006, they retired and relocated to Pipestone, Minnesota to be closer to family.

Beverly was a member of the Cornerstone Free Church in Pipestone. She was well known for her given talent of singing and her desire to praise Jesus with her voice. In her early years, Beverly was frequently asked to use her vocal talents at weddings and funerals.

Beverly passed away on October 5, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone at the age of 78 years, one month, and 24 days.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Glenn DeVries of Pipestone; two daughters, Twila Forbes of Centennial, Colorado and Toni (Keith) Vreeman of Edgerton, Minnesota; two granddaughters; Angela (Derek) Claar and Elizabeth Forbes; three great-grandchildren, Paxton, Asher and Brynlee Claar. She will be missed by her siblings, Conrad (Barbara) Plasier of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Francene Grover of Spencer, Iowa; and sister-in-law, Audrey Matthews, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson; one sister-in-law; and three brothers-in-law.
