BEVERLY JEAN WENGER was born on November 27, 1927 to Eldred and Mabel (Moen) Gradin in Underwood, North Dakota. She was raised and educated in Underwood, graduating from high school in 1945. Beverly attended Moorhead State University for one year and then returned to Underwood, where she recovered from Tuberculosis. On June 4, 1950, she was united in marriage to Kenzie Wenger at Birka Lutheran Church. Together they owned and operated Wenger’s Super Valu. In 1973, they moved to Tioga, North Dakota, and then in 1975, moved to Lemmon, South Dakota, and in 1977, they moved to Pipestone, Minnesota, where they resided for 21 years, In 1998, Bev and Kenzie retired back to Tioga to spend more time with their grandchildren. Kenzie passed away in July of 2000 and in 2008, Beverly decided to move back to Pipestone to be closer to her daughter, Lynda. On April 23, 2016, Beverly died peacefully at the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone at the age of 88 years, four months and 26 days.

Beverly was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Tioga, North Dakota and also attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Pipestone. She enjoyed baking and doing her Jumble puzzles. She was a wonderful baker and enjoyed sharing her goodies with friends and family. Bev was a compassionate and kind person who loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren immensely. She always had a great sense of humor – coming up with one-liners until the day she passed.
