Carol Ann Debruin

CAROL DEBRUIN…

was born to Albert B. and Glavis (Petersen) DeBruin on September 1, 1950 in Pipestone, Minnesota. She was raised on the family farm near Holland, Minnesota where she attended school. Upon completion of her education, she worked at the Developmental Achievement Center in Ruthton, Minnesota until the center closed in 1991. At that time, she began working at Progress in Pipestone. In 1996, she and her mother moved into Pipestone. After Glavis died in 2007, Carol resided at Hope Haven in Pipestone. On Monday, September 14, 2015, Carol died at her home in Pipestone at the age of 65 years and 14 days.

Carol was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Pipestone. She loved to sit and watch television. She always enjoyed looking at flowers, and her favorite pastime was shopping. Carol really enjoyed her trips to Okoboji!

She is lovingly remembered by her two sisters, Diane (Dan) Renneke of Carroll, Iowa, and Debbie (Chris) Jensen of New Prague, Minnesota; sister-in-law, Ronda DeBruin of Holland, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jerry DeBruin; and her special friend, Vern Carlton.
