Carolyn Starks

CAROLYN CHRISTINE STARKS Carolyn Christine Starks was born on November 14, 1946 to William Harrold and Olive Katherine (Lamb) Judd in Phoenix, Arizona. As a young person she helped raise her brothers as she was the oldest of the children. She attended Dysart High School in Arizona, graduating in 1964. She was married in 1969 to Leonard Cook in Arizona. In 1974, she became a single parent to two small children and worked jobs such as taking in ironing, babysitting, telemarketing, and she also became a PCA. In 1985, she was married to Fred Starks in California. In 1987, she became disabled due to a back injury she sustained while working as a PCA. She moved to Pipestone and resided there until moving into the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone in 2017. She passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Good Sam at the age of 73 years, seven months, and 18 days.

Carolyn was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Pipestone. She enjoyed doing puzzles, crafts, and playing Bingo with her friends at Good Sam. Her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will always be remembered. At Good Sam she was known as Mamma Hen to the staff as well as the residents.

Carolyn is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Crystal Wilke (significant other, Rex Bertram) of Pipestone; one son, Shaun Cook of Glendale, Arizona; one daughter-in-law, Julie Walker of Glendale, Arizona; three siblings, Thomas (Barbra) Judd of Tuscon, Arizona, Kenneth Judd, and Mike Judd, both of Arizona; seven grandchildren, Samantha (Ryan) Hendriks, Tiffany (Ramon) Gomez, Regan (Steven II) Snow, Noah Onken, Hannah Wilke, Marqui Walker, and Christian Walker; eight great-grandchildren, Cameron Hendriks, Micah Hendriks, Rowan Hendriks, Ezekiel Gomez, Thea Gomez, Baby Boy Gomez (due 8/10/2020), Sophia Snow, and Steven Snow, III. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Leonard Cook and Fred Starks; her parents; and one sister-in-law, Sarah Judd.
