Dan Wayne Moser

September 8, 1959 — June 2, 2022

DANIEL "DAN" WAYNE MOSER was born on September 8, 1959 to Leon and Ida (Gilmore) Moser in Bellflower, California. In 1964 his family moved to the Lake Benton, Minnesota area where they eventually started a dairy farm as a family. In his younger years Dan enjoyed helping milk cows and doing other jobs around the farm. He also earned a reward for never being tardy or absent from school. He attended Tyler High School and was a standout player in football and also a great wrestler as well. He spent much of his summer time at the lake waterskiing. He graduated from Tyler High School in 1978. He was united in marriage to Kathy Zeinstra at the First Presbyterian Church in Pipestone on May 9, 1981. After their marriage the couple moved into their own place near Lake Benton but Dan continued to help on the family farm until he and Kathy were both employed by Bayliner in Pipestone, Minnesota. It was at that time that they moved to Pipestone. They lived in a couple different houses in Pipestone before moving to their acreage outside of Pipestone. After leaving Bayliner, Dan was proud to work 22 years for the Pipestone County Highway Department where he was still employed. Dan very much loved to farm and enjoyed helping when he could as a second job/hobby. On Thursday, June 2, 2022, Dan passed away on the family farm near Lake Benton doing what he loved.

Dan was a member of Faith Community Church in Pipestone. He helped with communion on Sundays and was the go to guy for changing the sanctuary lightbulbs with Pastor Jennings as they were 30 feet in the air. He enjoyed farming, hunting, gardening, and any outdoor activity that could take place at the lake. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He would many times read books to them, take them for 4-wheeler rides and do just about anything they could talk him into. In his spare time he enjoyed watching sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings. He will be remembered for his solid dad jokes, his patience, hard-working lifestyle, and for being an amazing family man.

Dan is lovingly remembered by his wife of 41 years, Kathy of Pipestone; three children, Sara (Danny) Sandberg of St. Peter, Minnesota, Jeffrey (Britany) Moser of Lake Benton, Minnesota, and Tracie (Taylor) Skyberg of Pipestone; six grandchildren, Daxton Moser, Leighton Moser, Charlotte Sandberg, Levi Skyberg, Grayson Sandberg, and Ella Skyberg; three siblings, Brian (Marlys) Moser of Tyler, Minnesota, Mark (Tamera) Moser of Heron Lake, Minnesota, and Susan (Ryan) Bot of Farmington, Minnesota; and one sister-in-law, Damaris Moser of Manson, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Mike Moser.
