DARLENE MEYER was born to Len and Anna (Bruns) Trigg on July 20, 1936, in Verdi, Minnesota. In 1937, she moved with her parents, and they lived in various places in South Dakota where she began her education. In 1946, they returned to Verdi. Darlene graduated from Verdi High School in 1955. Upon completion of her education, she worked at Julian's Pastry Shop in Pipestone. On November 21, 1959, she was united in marriage to Ernest Meyer at St. Leo Catholic Church. Following their marriage, they lived in Pipestone. In 1960, they moved to Holland, Minnesota. Darlene continued to work at the bakery in Pipestone. They moved near Hatfield, Minnesota, in 1963. Then, in 1966, they moved to an acreage near Pipestone. Dar worked for 20 years at the bakery in Pipestone until 1975 when she began working at the S&L Clothing Store in Pipestone. In 1982, she became employed as the custodian for the Pipestone County Courthouse. Ernie and Dar sold their acreage in 1991 and moved into town. In 1998, Dar retired from the courthouse. Ernie preceded her in death on October 22, 2009. After his death, she continued to live in their home in Pipestone. In August of 2020, she sold her home in Pipestone and moved to Motley, Minnesota, to live with her daughter, Linda and husband Lyndon. On Friday, July 15, 2022, she passed away with family by her side at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center in Marshall, Minnesota at the age of 85 years.

Darlene was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church in Pipestone where she was active in the church circle and always willing to help with the funeral luncheons. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She volunteered her time with the American Red Cross Bloodmobile. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, flowers, crocheting, and doing crafts. She also enjoyed playing cards and darts. She loved to cook and bake, and everyone always commented on her wonderful food. She especially enjoyed spending time with Ernie, her kids, grandchildren, great- and great-great grandchildren.

She is lovingly remembered by her three children, Roger (Deb) Meyer of Rock Rapids, IA, Linda (Lyndon) Johnson of Motley, and Lisa (Greg) Bucher of Marshall; 12 grandchildren; R.J. (Summer) Meyer of Cedar Falls, IA, Melissa (T.J) Meyer-Dadzie of Espanola, NM, Megan (Luke) Homewood of Janesville, IA, Rick (Lindsey) Meyer of Monticello, IA, Miranda (Orestes) Ponce de León of Arlington, VA, Robert (Jennifer) Meyer of Oconomowoc, WI, Ben (LeAnn) Pribyl of Rock Rapids, Tiffany (Jake) Ehlers of Shueyville, IA, Brandon Pribyl of Motley, Sarah (Abe) Bucher of Marshall, Kate Bucher of Marshall; Anna Bucher of Marshall; 27 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; brother, Bob (Lorraine) Trigg; and sisters-in-law Phyllis Trigg, and Betty Einck. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie; her parents; three brothers, Earl Trigg, Leonard Trigg and Ray Trigg; two sisters, Marian Trigg and Bernice Whitaker; and great-grandchild, Gauge.
