DEBORAH "DEBBIE" TAUBERT was born May 12, 1935, to Roland and Margaret Lundberg in Arpin, WI. In 1949, when Debbie was fourteen years old, her family of eleven moved to Tumwater, WA.

After her high school graduation in 1953, she began writing letters to a young man named Floren Taubert who was serving in South Korea. She married the love of her life on Christmas Day 1954. The couple moved across the country to Floren’s family farm in Beaver Creek, Minnesota. They raised six children in the farmhouse in which Floren was born.

Debbie spent her life loving and ministering to children at home, as a Sunday school teacher, AWANA leader, and to any children in need. She had an incredible memory for all the “cute little things” her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren ever said, and she loved repeating those stories. Whenever she had peace and quiet, she enjoyed reading the Bible, spending time with Jesus in prayer, and journaling about her daily life. She could always be pulled into playing board and card games, reading to her children and grandchildren, or putting together a puzzle. She loved attending her grandchildren’s music and sporting events. Debbie will be remembered for her faith, unconditional love, kindness, and acceptance of everyone she met.

Deborah was preceded in death by her husband, Floren Taubert; her parents, Roland and Margaret Lundberg; her step mother, Rose Lundberg; her brothers, Keith Lundberg and Phil Lundberg; and one grandson, Ryan Taubert.

Debbie is survived by her siblings, Lois Fullington, Ruth Price, Rachel Olson, Nancy Yeske, Judy Petrezelka and Mark Lundberg; her children, Dave (Sharon) Taubert, Annette (Dan) Hill, Gregg (Sharon) Taubert, Brian (Debbie) Taubert, Brenda (Donn) Hill, and Brent (Jodi) Taubert; and her 34 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the following: Taubert Family Living Trust which helps support Steven and Alicia Lund, Debbie’s granddaughter who is serving in an East African country where it is illegal to proselytize; Pleasant View Cemetery; or the Gideons on behalf of both Debbie and her husband Floren who were both very dedicated to the organization throughout their lives.

“I believe that my problems, trials and tests have been personally picked out for me by my All-knowing, Gracious, All-loving God; because he wants to perfect and mature me and make me more like His Son. I believe He loves me and accepts me completely just as I am, but He loves me so much He will not leave me as I am, but is actively at work in my life. Therefore, with joy I accept whatever He chooses for me. I’m confident that He is ever present with me and in me and I am His work and will use His strength as my work is His work.”
