Diane L. Broekhuizen

DIANE LYNN BROEKHUIZEN was born on August 29, 1953 to John and Berdine (Beyer) Broekhuizen in Brookings, South Dakota. She attended school in Hendricks, Minnesota before moving to St. Paul, Minnesota. While there, Diane worked at various companies as a purchaser. In the early 80s, Diane moved with one of the companies to Dallas, Texas. She then returned to Minnesota in 1987, moving to Pipestone with her infant daughter, Danielle. While living in Pipestone, Diane attended school to become a paralegal and worked at Fey Industries Inc. in Edgerton, Minnesota. She and Danielle then moved to various places around Mankato, Minnesota, where she worked for various trucking companies as a shipping coordinator. Diane returned to Pipestone and continued to live there. She died peacefully on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota at the age of 67 years, two months, and 26 days.

While living in Pipestone, Diane attended Christ the King Free Lutheran Church with her mom, Berdine. Diane had a love of caring for others and enjoyed visiting her aunts and uncles. She also loved spending time with the children in the family, keeping them entertained at family get-togethers. Diane was an exceptional seamstress and had a great love of horses in her younger years.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Danielle (Lee) Olson of Mankato; seven siblings, Susan Gilbert of Hudson, Wisconsin, Tim (Sherrill) Broekhuizen of Flandreau, South Dakota, Julie (Bernie Krempges) DeWitte of Pipestone, Gail Whitaker of Belle Plaine, Minnesota, Karen (Terry) Claussen of Havre De Grace, Maryland, Sandy (Joe) Buysse of Jasper, Minnesota, and Becky (Randy) Baden of Jasper; many loving nieces and nephews; and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Eric and her parents, John and Berdine.
