Dorothy Eileen Wiese…

was born to Ernest and Cora (Damman) Mains on July 22, 1937 in Pipestone, Minnesota where she was raised on a farm west of town. At an early age, she moved with her family to a farm near Ruthton, Minnesota and rode a bus to Tyler, Minnesota to school. Following her graduation from Tyler High School in 1955, she was employed as a waitress at Lange’s Caf in Pipestone. She later moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota where she lived a short time and was employed at Kirks Caf. She then returned to Pipestone and was united in marriage to LeRoy Wiese on February 1, 1958. Following their marriage, they resided in Pipestone where she raised her family. In 1995, she became employed at the Good Samaritan Communities in Pipestone working in housekeeping. On May 19, 2002, LeRoy preceded her in death. After his death, she continued to live in their home and worked until her retirement in 2010. Later that year she was diagnosed with Alzheimers and in August, 2010, she moved to Storybrook until February, 2013, when she moved to Falls Landing. On September 5, 2014, she was admitted to Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone, where she died on Monday, September 26, 2016 at the age of 79 years, 2 months, and 4 days.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was very content spending her time at home reading a book alongside her cup of coffee and bowl of ice cream. She also enjoyed going for her daily walks.
