ELAINE PEARL KAUTZ…
was born on February 24, 1919 to George and Cora (Busacker) Kautz on a farm in rural Verdi, Minnesota. At a young age, she moved with her family to a farm in rural Ward, South Dakota where she was raised. She attended school in Verdi, graduating from Verdi High School. Upon completion of her education, she continued to live at home on the farm. In 1952, she moved to Pipestone, Minnesota where she worked at Ben Franklin Store for several years. On June 20, 2013, she became a resident at Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone where she died on Monday, December 7, 2015 at the age of 96 years, nine months and 13 days.
Elaine enjoyed collecting stuffed bears and figurines. While she lived on the farm, she enjoyed raising ducks and geese. She liked playing cards and bingo with the other residents at the Nokomis Apartments.
She is lovingly remembered by several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Donald and Gerald; and a nephew.
