Obituary for Eugene Longstrom

EUGENE DALE LONGSTROM was born November 25, 1951 in Tracy, Minnesota to Clarence Monroe Longstrom and Pearl (Cyr) Longstrom. He graduated from Franklin Public School in 1969 and graduated in 1973 from Southwest State University in Marshall, Minnesota with a Bachelor’s Degree. Following graduation from college, Eugene developed housing for mentally challenged. Thereafter, he worked for a couple of years for Schwan’s Sales Enterprises. In 1978, he began a career in real estate, whereby he sold farm properties, commercial properties and residential properties. Along with selling real estate, he had an appraisal business from 1980-1994. Also along with real estate sales, he taught continuing education for real estate, insurance and appraisal professionals for the Minnesota School of Real Estate from 1990 through 2000. Eugene died at his home on Friday, April 22, 2016 in Pipestone, Minnesota at the age of 64 years, four months and 27 days.

Throughout the years, he belonged to several area civic organizations as well as professional organizations.

Eugene is survived by a host of friends and relatives.

Memorials are preferred in Eugene's name to the Veteran's Cemetery Project in Redwood County or a charity of the donor's choice.
