Eva Regeon

October 15, 1921 — November 9, 2018

Evrada “Eva” Regeon was born to Maas and Pelliena “Paulina” (Verbrugh) Vande Kieft on October 15, 1921 on a farm in Moulton Township, Murray County, Minnesota. Eva’s parents had come to the United States in January of 1919 from Barneveld, Netherlands. They moved the family to the area by Lake Wilson, Minnesota and then to the Woodstock, Minnesota area before settling east of Holland, Minnesota where Eva attended Country School District #34. For a time, she worked for Tom Reynolds' parents taking care of the family’s children and their home. Eva was married to Jim Regeon. Following their marriage, they moved to Wichita, Kansas. While living there, Eva worked at Domestic Laundry and Dry Cleaning Company for 23 years, they then moved to Wichita Falls, Texas and to Marshall, Texas. After her husband died in 1978 she moved to Edgerton and worked at Fey Industries in Edgerton for 15 years. She then moved to Pipestone where she remained until entering the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone where she resided until she entered the Pipestone County Hospice House in November 2018. She passed away there peacefully on Friday, November 9, 2018 at the age of 97 years and 24 days.

Eva attended Faith Community Church in Pipestone. She enjoyed time spent outside going fishing, camping, gardening, and riding motorcycles. She also liked playing cards, doing puzzles, crocheting, canning, and listening to old time music (especially fiddlers at the Pipestone Performing Arts Center). Eva was a hard worker and wanted things done the right way. She had a great life-long relationship with her sister, Tena, who she spent countless hours with chatting in Dutch or driving around town (with her lead foot). She also loved riding around in her granddaughter’s Corvette in Texas.

She is lovingly remembered by her granddaughter, Tammy (Stephen) Gilboux of Plano, Texas; her grandson, Brian (Linda) Freese of Granger, Indiana; three great-grandchildren; her special friend, Lenoy Rue of Balaton, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; her daughter, Blanche Schartz; her parents; four sisters, Wilhelmina Brouwer, Marie Riemer, Pauline Vande Kieft and Tena Kleinjan; and six brothers, John, Gerrit, Morris, Marinus, William, and a brother who died as an infant.
