Gene E. Lueck

GENE EDWARD LUECK was born on August 14, 1941, to Willard and Rebecca (Schumacher) Lueck in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. He was baptized on November 27, 1941, and confirmed on May 15, 1955, in North Redwood, Minnesota. In 1959, Gene graduated from Danube High School in Danube, Minnesota. Following graduation, he was united in marriage to Marlys Wallert on November 7, 1959, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Olivia, Minnesota. They made their home in Pipestone, Minnesota and most recently resided in Lake Benton, Minnesota. Their union was blessed with five children; Dean, Dan, Dawn, Dale, David, and special sibling, Ryan Julius. Gene drove truck over the road for many years for Schwan’s. He retired in 2004. Gene passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at the Pipestone County medical Center in Pipestone, Minnesota, at the age of 80 years, eight months, and 20 days.

Gene enjoyed hunting, fishing and designing projects of all types. Gene will be remembered for his one-liners.

Gene is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Marlys; children, Dean (Leslie) Lueck of Lake Benton, Dan (Stacy) Lueck of Marshall, Missouri, Dawn (Stanley) Kutil of North Mankato, Minnesota, Dale (Amy) Lueck of Pipestone, Minnesota, David (Amy) Lueck of Lake Benton, and Ryan (Kim) Julius of North Mankato; grandchildren, Chase Lueck, Chasady (Jacob) Frederickson, Tessa (special friend Nick Sysavath) Lueck, Austin (Jamie) Evans, Trase (Sammie) Lueck, Jacob (Jessica) Lueck, Nick Lueck, Josh (Malorie) Kutil, Jordan (Christine) Kutil, Kelly (Adam Scofield) Lueck, Brett (special friend Kristina Sackman) Lueck, Erin Lueck, and Cole Lueck, Austin (Kileey) Lueck, Raph Johnson, Eli Johnson; great-grandchildren, Westin Fredrickson, Sawyer, Avacyn and Dawson Kutil, Asher and Mckenna Scofield, Jaxton, Lucas, Harper Evans, and Everly Lueck; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roy Lueck; grandchildren, Damon Robert Lueck and Angel Jacob Lueck.
