GLADYS M. SCHREURS was born on November 19, 1928 to Andrew and Marie Christensen in Tyler, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Dionysius Catholic Church in Tyler and would go on to be a lifetime member. She attended the Tyler Public Schools and graduated in 1946. After her marriage to Cletus Schreurs on January 18, 1949, the couple made their home near Arco, Minnesota, where they farmed. Gladys worked for a short time at the local grocery and the Danebod Village Home, but mainly raised her family and maintained the home. Cletus preceded Gladys in death in 1994. Gladys remained on the farm until moving into Tyler for many years. She later relocated to Boulder Estates in Marshall, Minnesota for seven years before moving to the Boulder Creek Assisted Living also in Marshall. She continued to live there until January of 2020, when she relocated to Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall, where she died peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2020, at the age of 91 years, nine months, and ten days.

Gladys was a member of the St. Dionysius Catholic Church Women, and the Arco, Minnesota VFW Auxiliary. She was a woman of unshakeable faith that loved God and loved her family. Some of her favorite times were spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cleaning, dancing, and playing cards. She also kept her mind active by reading and completing crossword puzzles. Gladys could also often be found in her garden and loved to appreciate the beautiful flowers and raise vegetables for canning. She will surely be missed.

Gladys is remembered by her children, Nancy (Wayne) Stahnke of Olivia, Minnesota and Wayne (Darlene) Schreurs of Hendricks, Minnesota; seven grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Doug Gutbrod. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus; children, Judy, Allan, and Patti; her parents; five brothers; and two sisters.
