GRACE ADRIANNA BOEVE was born to George and Wilma (Zeilstra) Burgers on September 18, 1925 on a farm near Larchwood, Iowa, where she was raised and attended country school. Upon completion of her education, she helped on her parents’ farm. On March 8, 1943, Grace was united in marriage to Dick Boeve in Rock Rapids, Iowa. Following their marriage, the couple resided in Rock Valley, Iowa. In 1959, they moved to Luverne, Minnesota, where Grace was employed as a custodian for Luverne High School for a few years. She also worked as a custodian for Terrace Park Dairy. In 1992, she and Dick moved to Pipestone, Minnesota, where they lived until 1998, when they moved to Jasper, Minnesota. In 2007, the couple moved to the Centennial Apartments in Luverne. Dick passed away on March 17, 2011. Grace later moved to the Good Samaritan Society – Mary Jane Brown Home in Luverne. On Saturday, March 20, 2021, Grace passed away peacefully at the Sanford Luverne Hospital at the age of 95 year, six months and two days.
Grace was a member of the United Methodist Church in Luverne. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading, crocheting and playing games. Many evenings were spent playing rummikub and bingo.
She is lovingly remembered by her two children, George and his wife, Janet Boeve of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Donna and her husband, Richard Christianson of Longville, Minnesota; four grandchildren; Tambray Boeve, Rick (Angie) Boeve, Amanda (Christopher) Ball and Jessica (Rey) Drees; eight great-grandchildren, Kyrstin (Kyle) Wurdeman, Zachary Boeve, Shaela Boeve, Madeline Ball, Lucas Ball, Rowan Ball, Zachary Drees and Chloe Drees; and two great-great-grandchildren, Kylar and Kymber Wurdeman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Boeve; son, Wilbur Boeve, who died when he was three years old; parents; three brothers, Weber, Neal, and George Burgers; and six sisters, Bertha Van Engelenhoven, Nellie Vanden Hul, Tillie Olson, Minnie Van Den Top, Jennie Clark and Wilma Koedam.
