Obituary for Grace L. Hagedorn
Grace Lillian Hagedorn...

was born to William and Ethel (Nicholson) Hagedorn on June 19, 1922 and was raised on the family farm north of Pipestone. She graduated from Pipestone High School on June 6, 1940. In 1943, Grace married and moved to a farm a mile north of her family home and raised her two daughters. She was a hard worker and actively participated in farm chores and kept her home and yard immaculate. In 1963, she and her daughters moved to Marshall. After they graduated from high school, Grace moved to Golden Valley in 1970. She enjoyed dancing and going to the ballrooms in the twin cities area. Her favorite was old time polka music and in her later years she never missed polka time on Saturday evenings. In 1993, Grace moved back to the home her parents built in Pipestone. She remained in the home that she loved until she died at the age of 90 years and six days, on Monday, June 25, 2012.

She is lovingly remember by her two daughters, Pat Lange of Cottonwood, MN and Ginger Westerbur and her special friend, Bruce Novak of Pipestone, MN; 3 grandchildren, Shannon Nelson and her husband, Todd, Shawn Laleman and his wife, Jessica, Shane Laleman and his wife, Megan; as well as great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Goodmund and husband Terry, Madisen Nelson, Isabella Laleman, Lane Goebel and Beau Laleman; one brother, Howard Hagedorn; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was loved dearly by family and friends.

A private family graveside memorial service was held Monday, July 2, 2012 at New Woodlawn Cemetery, Pipestone, MN.
