Obituary for Herman D. Beyenhof

HERMAN DWAYNE BEYENHOF was born November 23, 1947 to Bernard and June (Van Malsen) Beyenhof in Luverne, Minnesota. He grew up on the family farm near Steen, Minnesota and graduated from Hills-Beaver Creek High School in 1966. Following high school, Herman worked at John Morrell’s in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He joined the Minnesota National Guard and later was called into active duty where he was then stationed in Germany. He later received an honorable discharge from the service. He then returned home and continued for a short time at John Morrell’s. Herman’s life brought him many places. In recent years, he had become a resident at the Minnesota VA Healthcare Facility in St. Cloud, Minnesota. On May 9, 2017 Herman suffered a massive heart attack. He passed away in the early morning on Monday, May 15, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Herman enjoyed bowling and sharing plenty of stories over a couple of cigarettes. His unique personality will be forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew him.

Herman is survived by six siblings, Bonita Robinson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Robert (Susan) Beyenhof of Luverne, Wayne (Rita) Beyenhof of Luverne, Debbie Olson of Brandon, South Dakota, Jody (Harley) Fransman of Beaver Creek, and Tami (Jeremy) Josephson of Sioux Falls; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
