Janice M. Conway

JANICE MARY CONWAY was born to Henry William and Viola Mary (Naeve) Lomker on August 3, 1937 in Pipestone, Minnesota, where she was raised and attended school. When her mother married Phillip Tate, Janice was adopted by him in 1945. After she completed her education, she moved to Le Mars, Iowa, in 1954 and became employed at the Aalfs-Baker Manufacturing Company. On April 30, 1956, she was united in marriage to Thomas Conway, Jr., in Mallard, Iowa. Janice lived and worked in several communities, including Minneapolis, Minnesota, Freeman, South Dakota, Lake Wilson, Minnesota, Mallard, Emmetsburg, and Spencer, Iowa. In 1969, Janice moved to Pipestone. In 1984, she moved to Edgerton, Minnesota where she was employed at Fey Industries. Then, in 1998, she moved to Shakopee, Minnesota to be near her children. She returned to this area in 2002 when she moved to Slayton, Minnesota, and then to Pipestone in 2004. On Thursday, March 10, 2022, Janice died at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the age of 84 ears, seven months and seven days.

Janice was baptized on April 9, 1939 in the Methodist Episcopal Church in Pipestone where she was also confirmed. She was a member of the Pipestone Senior citizens. She enjoyed doing crafts and attending craft shows.

She is survived by her five children, Debra Bina of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Mark Conway of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Patrick Conway and his wife, Mary, of Lakeville, Minnesota, Michael Conway of Marshalltown, Iowa, and Diane Stocker and her husband, Tim, of Waconia, Minnesota; eight grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Tate of Kalispell, Montana. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Joshua Conway; her parents; a sister, Marlene Lomker; a brother, William Tate; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Conway; and a son-in-law, Steve Bina.
