Jeanette Mattison...

Was born to Helmer and Myrtle (Myren) Anderson on January 18, 1934 in Osseo, Wisconsin where she was raised and received her education. After her high school graduation in 1953, she attended the School of Cosmetology in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Upon completion of her education, she moved to Eau, Claire, Wisconsin where she was employed by Michael’s Salon. On November 7, 1959, she was united in marriage to Roger Mattison in Osseo. Following their marriage, they lived in Eau Claire until 1971 when they moved to Pipestone, Minnesota. In 1980, she started working with children in daycare. She continued doing this until her retirement in 1990. Jeanette was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2002. For eight years Roger lovingly cared for her until 2010 when she became a resident of Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone. Upon Roger’s passing, Jeanette moved to Princeton, Minnesota in August 2012, and resided in the Elim Care & Rehab to be closer to her son, Neal and his family. She died there on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the age of 83 years, 9 months, and 18 days.

Jeanette was baptized in 1934 at Osseo Lutheran Church in Osseo, Wisconsin where she was confirmed in 1947. She was previously a member of First Lutheran Church in Pipestone and she was active in her church circle during her time there. Jeanette had a great love of crafting and knitting. She especially loved creating crafts with her grandchildren when they would visit. Jeanette was also a very kind and caring. If there was an individual that was unable to travel home for the holidays, Jeanette was more than willing to invite them to her home.

She is lovingly remembered by her two children, Linda (Curtis) Anderson of Chandler, Arizona, and Neal (Meg) Mattison of Princeton, Minnesota; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Richard (Ruth) Anderson of Augusta, Wisconsin and Marlan Anderson of Little Rock, Arkansas; one brother-in-law, Juel (Kathy) Smith of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; and many other loving friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; her parents; twin sister, Janice Smith; sister, Grace Anderson; and three brothers, Gerald Anderson, Marshall Anderson, and Harlow Anderson.
