Jerald H. Possail

Jerald Henry Possail...

was born on January 13, 1940 to Fred and Violet (Sparks) Possail in Tyler, Minnesota. He was raised on a farm east of Arco and attended school both in a country school and in Tyler. Following his education, he helped his father farm. On August 8, 1957, he enlisted in the National Guard and served in Alaska on the pipeline. He was honorably discharged on July 31, 1963. On November 27, 1961, Jerald married Barbara Giles at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tyler. Their union was blessed with four children and 51 years of life together. The couple purchased the farm in Marshfield Township where they farmed their entire married life. Jerry enjoyed raising pigs, sheep, and especially quarter horses. For many years, he milked cows and over the past ten years raised Angus cattle. On Friday, August 17, 2012, Jerry died unexpectedly at his home at the age of 72 years, seven months and four days.

Jerry was baptized at the Lutheran Church in Russell, Minnesota on March 23, 1940 and later was confirmed at the Ihlen Lake Lutheran Church. He enjoyed going on trail rides, dancing, hunting, and watching western movies. He relished time spent with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Barbara Possail of Arco, Minnesota; his children, Gloria Jones and her husband Larry of Bethany, Oklahoma, Wayne Possail and his wife Brenda of Tyler, Minnesota, Peggy Possail of Arco, Minnesota, and Lisa Muenchow and her husband David of Lake Benton, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren: Larinda, Christian, Lyle, Jonathan, Kurtis, Morgan, Natalee, Madison, Riley, and Haley; five great-grandchildren: Bryce, Emerson, Violet, Bentley, and Travis; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Emma; one sister, Janet Lambertus; and a nephew, Andrew Lambertus.
