Jerry Fehl

January 24, 1971 — May 22, 2016

JERRY DEAN FEHL was born on January 24, 1971 in Tyler, Minnesota to Morris and Irene (Wichern) Fehl. He was baptized at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Lake Benton, Minnesota. Jerry attended Lake Benton Public School and graduated in 1989. While in high school Jerry made several lifelong friends. He and “the guys” could often be found under the hood of one of their cars, tinkering and talking long past the daylight hours. With his passion for mechanics, Jerry enrolled in Watertown Area Tech and graduated with distinguished honors, receiving his degree in Automotive Mechanics in 1991.

Jerry made his home in Omaha, Nebraska. He was employed by Production Rebuilders, where he rebuilt commercial carburetors and generators. Later he bought this business and became the sole owner/operator. Jerry was a good person with a kind soul; he was always willing to help out those he could.

He was good ole Uncle Jerry to many nieces and nephews and was considered a second dad to his niece, Casey. For years he lovingly helped his brother, Tom care for her, and also shared with her his knowledge of the game of football. As an avid football fan, Jerry loved his Minnesota Vikings and the Nebraska Corn Huskers. Many an hour he spent watching and rehashing the games.

Jerry passed away suddenly May 22, 2016, at Brookings Health Systems in Brookings, South Dakota at the age of 45 years, three months, and 28 days.

Jerry is lovingly remembered by his parents, Morris and Irene Fehl of Elkton, South Dakota; five brothers, Steven (Billie) of Oviedo, Florida, Gary (Becky) of Greendale, Wisconsin, Randy (Lori) of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Tom (Robin) of Omaha, Nebraska, and Jeffrey of Lake Benton, Minnesota; three sisters, Sherry Fehl of Lake Benton, Teresa (Bill) Bunkers of Lake Benton, and Jeanette (Jayson) Kirmeier of Chanhassen, Minnesota; and many others relatives and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Richard; his grandparents, George and Ida Fehl, and John and Edna Wichern; a nephew, Derek, and a great-nephew, William.

Blessed be his memory.
