Jordan J. Degroot

JORDAN JEFFERY DeGROOT was born on May 14, 1993 to Jeffery and Sheila (Brouwer) DeGroot at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was raised in Beaver Creek, Minnesota until 1997, when the family moved to Tennessee. They returned to Rock County, Minnesota in 2004 and resided in Magnolia. Jordan graduated from Luverne High School in 2011. He then furthered his education at Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls. Jordan then began working first at Jay Egge Automatic Service in Sioux Falls and later at Lund Trucking. He was currently working as a fermentation specialist at Fermentation Experts in Ellis, South Dakota. On Saturday, July 28, 2018 Jordan was involved in an ATV accident. He passed away as a result of those injuries on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls at the age 25 years.

As Jordan was always willing to help whoever was in need, his final act of kindness was to give the gift of organ and tissue donation to others in need.

In addition to showing concern for others, Jordan loved working on motor vehicles of all sorts. He especially was proud of his Monte Carlo. He enjoyed riding his ATV and gaming on his PlayStation.

Jordan will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Sheila Brouwer of Jasper, Minnesota; father, Jeff DeGroot of Magnolia; brother, Justin (Kayla) DeGroot of Hutchinson, Minnesota and their children, Shyanne, Jocelyn and soon to be born Greyson Jordan Jay DeGroot; maternal grandparents, Conrad (Linda) Brouwer of Leota; paternal grandmother, Judy DeGroot of Luverne; maternal great-grandmother, Marth Brouwer of Leota; other family and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Dwight DeGroot.
