Obituary for Kenneth Staeffler

KENNETH STAEFFLER was born June 7, 1925 to Robert and Erene (Hagedorn) Staeffler on a farm in Battle Plain Township, Rock County, Minnesota. He attended District 42 Country School and graduated from the 8th grade. He then helped on the family farm. Kenny was united in marriage to Lorraine Arp on January 30, 1947 in the home of Rev. Hamilton in Lake Benton, Minnesota. Following their marriage the couple lived in Luverne. Kenny worked for Merlie Herman and then at Luverne Steel for a short time. The couple then made their home on the farm where Kenny was born. Here they raised their son, Allen and continued farming. In addition to farming, Kenny was also a Pioneer Seed salesman for 25 years. He retired from both farming and seed sales in 1990. Lorraine passed away in December of 2008. Kenny continued to reside at their home. In September 2013, Kenny moved into the Edgebrook Care Center in Edgerton, Minnesota, where on Friday, December 26, 2014 he died peacefully at the age of 89 years, 6 months and 19 days.

Kenny was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Edgerton. He was also a member of the Hardwick Community Club. Kenny enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards and wintering for a number of years in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He also enjoyed visiting with people as he was blessed with the “gift to gab.”
