KYRWOOD JOHN WARNER was born to John and Maude (Hrabak) Warner on May 7, 1923 in Pipestone, Minnesota. As a small child, he moved with his parents to a farm by Holland, Minnesota where he was raised and attended country school in District No. 28. Upon completion of his education, he helped on the family farm. During this time, Kyrwood met Carmen Hegdahl. On December 13, 1946, they were united in marriage in South Sioux City, Nebraska. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed by Holland. After their retirement in 1978, they moved to Slayton, Minnesota. Then, in 1991, they moved to Luverne, Minnesota. They moved to Chancellor, South Dakota on May 7, 2010 to live with their daughter and her husband. Kyrwood died there on Monday, September 28, 2015 at the age of 92 years, four months and 21 days.
Kyrwood was a member of First Lutheran Church in Pipestone, Minnesota. He enjoyed farming and visiting, and he could strike up a conversation with anyone.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Carmen Warner of Chancellor; one daughter, Carol Fincher and her husband Lester of Chancellor; three grandchildren, Chrisa Jarvi and her husband Luke of Gillette, Wyoming, Dana Nelson and her husband Darren of Brookings, South Dakota, and Resa Fincher and special friend, Jeremy Kirchhevel of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; four great-grandchildren, Aryana, Ladd, Tagg and Taylie Nelson and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Carl, who died as an infant; his parents; and one sister, Cleeta (Johnson) Jackson.
