Larry Haupert

December 28, 1940 — December 16, 2016

Lawrence William Haupert was born to Lawrence and Hedwig (Staab) Haupert on December 28, 1940 in Pipestone, Minnesota where he was raised and attended school. After his graduation from Pipestone High School in 1958, he farmed with his dad. On June 16, 1962, he was united in marriage to Barbara Kuehl at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Fulda, Minnesota. Following their marriage, they resided in Pipestone where he continued to farm into the late 1960s. He became employed at Old Dutch Foods where he worked for 33 years until his retirement. During that time, he and his wife Barb raised their three children together. Following his retirement, he traveled to Texas for the winters spending time with family members. Later he moved to Booneville, Mississippi and purchased a lake home. He died at his home on Friday, December 16, 2016 at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 16 days.

Larry was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church in Pipestone. Since 1977, he loved his cabin at Lake Shetek. While he was at the lake, he enjoyed fishing, driving his boat, teaching his children how to ski, and spending time with family and friends. He had a great enthusiasm for the outdoors and loved many sport activities.

He is lovingly remembered by his two daughters, Sheryl and her husband Andy Graf of Tupelo, Mississippi and Sandra and her husband Jay DeBoom of Hastings, Minnesota; four grandchildren, Benjamin Graf, Alisha Graf, Karli DeBoom and Austin DeBoom; eight siblings, Joseph Haupert, Francis and his wife Marilyn Haupert, Geraldine and her husband Daryl Voss, Harold and his wife Marion Haupert, James and his wife Karen Haupert, Patricia Schneller, Shirley and her husband Jerry Barthel, Ron and his wife Jan Haupert, and one sister-in-law, Gwen Haupert; and many nieces and nephews.
