Lauretta T. Ladd

LAURETTA THEODORA LADD was born on July 19, 1919, to Theodore and Laura (Jacobson) Olson on the family farm near Kenneth, Minnesota. She attended the country school that was located on their section of land. On May 29, 1947, she married Lauren Ladd Jr. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Luverne, Minnesota. The couple made their livelihood from the land by farming and was blessed to raise their son, Leighton. In 1985, they retired from farming and in 1999, the couple moved into Luverne. On March 27, 2012, Lauren preceded her in death. Lauretta continued to reside in their home, where on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, she died peacefully at the age of 96 years, two months and ten days.

Lauretta is survived by her son, Leighton of St. Louis Park, Minnesota; one sister, Marion Helling of Luverne, Minnesota; a sister-in-law, Doris Olson of Adrian, Minnesota; and other family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lauren; parents, Theodore and Laura Olson; brother, Donald Olson; and sister, Thelma Wittenberger.
