Lavon Harriet Timm

LAVON HARRIET TIMM was born on October 15, 1938 to Donald and Elsie (Foster) Huebner in Morris, Minnesota. At the age of two, Lavon moved with her family to Holland, Minnesota where she attended country school through the 8th grade. Upon completion of her education, she helped on the farm. She was united in marriage to Raymond Petroff on February 2, 1957 at St. Martin Catholic Church in Woodstock, Minnesota and to that union two children were born, Diane and Michael. Raymond preceded her in death in 1979. On October 17, 1970, she was united in marriage to Edgar Timm in Brainerd, Minnesota and the two lived and farmed near Holland. Throughout her life, Lavon worked at various cafs, Fecker Co., Pipestone County Landfill, and Hyde Oil. She also did a lot of farming and fencing work with Edgar throughout the years, as well as delivering mail. In November of 2014, Lavon entered into the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone where she died peacefully on Friday, July 22, 2016 at the age of 77 years, nine months, and seven days.

Lavon was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Holland where she was an active Sunday school teacher and custodian. She enjoyed going to tractor pulls and cooking; she was a very good cook. Most of all, Lavon loved her grandchildren, she loved all children and children always loved her.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Michael (Dawn) Petroff of Tea, South Dakota and Bernie Imhoff of Holland; siblings, Donna (special friend, Jerry) Reese of Carlos, Minnesota and Pat Tuin of Pipestone, Minnesota; grandchildren, Justin April, Ashley, Jordyn and Bailey; and great-grandchildren, Dionedra, Creedence, Alyssa and Ryder. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Petroff in 1979; second husband, Edgar Timm in 2002; her daughter, Diane Hinz; brothers-in-law, Dean Tuin and Robert Reese; and her special friend, Clarence Meyer.
