Lila Mae Hubner

July 22, 1926 — March 4, 2014

LILA MAE HUBNER was born on July 22, 1926 to Frances John and Edith Laura (Marquardt) Groth in Pipestone, Minnesota. She was baptized in the Lutheran Faith. She attended school in Pipestone, graduating from Pipestone High School in 1944. After her graduation, she worked at a toy shop and Botsford Lumber Company as a bookkeeper. On June 28, 1948, she was united in marriage to Loren Hubner at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone with Rev. JG Steinmier officiating. They made their home in Pipestone and were blessed with three children, Linda in 1949, Leonard in 1953 and Lisa in 1962. Lila was a stay at home mom until 1970 when she began selling Avon. She then attended Southeast Vocational Technical School in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where she earned her LPN degree. Following her education, she worked at Ashton Care Center and Good Samaritan Village, both of Pipestone and Sunrise Manor in Tyler, Minnesota. She continued to sell Avon until she became a resident at Ashton Care Center in November of 2009. She then moved to Sunrise Manor in Tyler in 2010; Lila loved the staff that provided care to her there in the last few years. She died there on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the age of 87 years, seven months and ten days.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone, Minnesota where she taught Sunday school and was active in WGA and a couple circles. She loved to cook, and was an avid card player.
