Obituary for Linda Dulaney

LINDA KAY DULANEY was born to Loren and Lila (Groth) Hubner on September 3, 1949 in Pipestone, Minnesota where she was raised and attended school. After her graduation from Pipestone High School, she attended Sioux Valley School of Nursing in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Once she obtained her nursing degree, Linda lived and worked in various locations in the United States including Burnsville, Minnesota, Solvang, California, Exeter, California, Heron Lake, Minnesota, and Jackson, Minnesota. She furthered her nursing career as a director of nurses in these locations, and she also traveled for the American Red Cross. She particularly loved the elderly and worked in various long-term care facilities as an RN/Director of Nursing until her retirement in 2010. She was diagnosed and treated for cancer in 2003. This past year, Linda was again diagnosed with cancer. On Wednesday, April 6, 2011, she died under the care of the hospice personnel at the Sunset Cottage in Worthington, Minnesota, at the age of 61 years, seven months and three days.

Linda enjoyed spending time with her family, especially during holidays. Her favorite holidays were Easter, Christmas and Valentine’s Days. She enjoyed traveling and had visited Australia, Ireland and Hawaii. She was a shopper, particularly shoes and watches. She was an extremely giving and caring person. She loved the changing seasons, especially spring when she looked forward to the official opening of the Dari King each year. She was very fond of her animals and cared about all forms of life. She was known by her friends and family for her love of color, vibrancy and people.

She is lovingly remembered by her parents, Loren and Lila Hubner of Pipestone, Minnesota; her brother, Leonard Hubner and his wife Jacqueline of Pipestone, Minnesota, and their children JaLen and Justin; her sister, Lisa Hubers and her husband Bruce of Pipestone, Minnesota, and their children Chris and Emily and their children Mackenzie and Marshall Hubers, Lacey Hubers, Allison Hubers, and Amber and Jeremy Otkin; and her special friend, Gary Pinz of Spirit Lake, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her son, Eric Whipple; her paternal grandparents, Herman and Emma Hubner; and her maternal grandparents, Frances and Edith Groth.
