Lois Faye Brune

Lois Faye Brune was born on May 31, 1938 to Moses and Estella (Pearsall) Crow at the Pipestone Indian Hospital. She was raised in Pipestone, Minnesota by her mother after her father died and she went to school in Pipestone. Throughout her whole life Faye enjoyed working with the pipestone and making small crafts. Her Indian name was Omanica. She was married to Rusty Stevens in Pipestone and eight children were born to this marriage. Faye spent most of her life in Pipestone and its surrounding towns. She later married Marvin 'Buck' Brune in the Pipestone area and they spend many years together there. In the early 90s Buck passed away and Faye moved back to Pipestone where she lived in several different places. In her later years, Faye had numerous health problems. On Monday, March 3, 2014, Faye passed away at the Adrian Care Center in Adrian, Minnesota at the age of 75 years, 9 months, and 2 days.

Faye is survived by four sons, and one daughter; one sister, Cynthia Brady of Pipestone; one brother-in-law, Melvin Erks; many nieces and nephews; and several grandchildren.

Faye is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons; one daughter; four sisters; and four brothers.
