Lucille Norma Lindemann

February 7, 1922 — April 6, 2014

LUCILLE NORMA LINDEMANN was born February 7, 1922, in Lake Benton, Minnesota, the daughter of Theodore and Louise (Feske) Schardin. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Lucille was raised on her family's farm and attended grades 1-8 in a one room country school, graduating from Lake Benton High School in 1939.

As a young woman, she moved to Washington, D.C. and took a job with the U.S. Department of Commerce. She worked there as a secretary and enjoyed her life in that city, making lifelong friends and memories. After living there for 10 years, she returned home to Minnesota.

On June 13, 1953, Lucille was united in marriage with Elmer Lindemann at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake Benton. They settled on the family farm where they raised their four children. Lucille was well known among her neighbors and friends for her homemade bread, cinnamon rolls, and doughnuts, and could always throw on a 'little lunch' at a moment's notice.
She eventually returned to the workforce as a nursing assistant at Divine Providence Hospital and Home in Ivanhoe, MN. She took great pride in her work and even trained new aides who still speak highly of her.

Lucille and her husband were able to enjoy many retirement years together. She loved taking day trips to Sioux Falls, going for walks, and watching Twins baseball. Lucille thoroughly enjoyed being a grandmother and loved a good soap opera and a good thunderstorm. She also kept busy with her embroidery, creating many keepsakes for her family.

In December 2009, Lucille became a resident at Divine Providence Nursing Home. Even though her memories faded, she was still quick to laugh and was always kind. She passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 06, 2014, at the age of 92 years, 1 month, and 29 days.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children; Linda Konn and Jeff of Marshall, Alan Lindemann and Cindy Jorgenson of Lake Benton, Lori Lindemann of Rosemount, and LuAnn Zellmer and Richard of Waseca; five grandchildren, Jeremy, Jamie, and Joshua Lindemann, Jessica Simar and Emily Konn; nine great-grandchildren; one sister Viola Hansen; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six brothers, and three sisters.

We will miss her.
