LYNN ARDELL BERGHUIS was born December 8, 1957, to Benjamin and Johanna (Scholten) Berghuis in Pipestone, Minnesota. She was baptized at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Edgerton, Minnesota. During her childhood she grew up in Trosky, Minnesota and participated in special education in Pipestone until the age of 21 years. Lynn then moved to the Hiawatha Manor where she was blessed with a second family in the staff and other residents in the Progress program. Along with her Progress family, she would go on many outings which included bowling, going to the movies, swimming, and attending Friendship Bible Class in Edgerton. She also never missed a family get together. Lynn passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021, at the Hiawatha Manor surrounded by her siblings at the age of 63 years, 10 months, and 17 days.

Lynn enjoyed crocheting hangers, coloring, writing letters, and camping with her family. She could also frequently be found watching the Lawrence Welk show or her favorite movie, Babe. Lynn was an avid coffee drinker and loved the occasional treat of chocolate sundaes and hamburgers. She will be deeply missed for her great sense of humor, commonly shown while teasing her loved ones. Lynn had a kind heart with an especially soft spot for babies and animals (kitties and puppies being her favorite). Though she shared the family trait of stubbornness, she was a very gentle and shy person.

Lynn is survived by her siblings, Ellen Pierce of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Marsha (Earl) Blom of Luverne, Minnesota, and Norman Berghuis of Lakeville, Minnesota; nieces and nephews, Lisa Brower, Lori Meyer, Deb Stanelle, Shela Van Dam, John Berghuis, and Curtis Berghuis; her Progress family; many great-nieces and nephews; and many great-great-nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Johanna; sister, Donna Bouwers; brothers-in-law, Gene Pierce, Gary Tinklenberg, and Kor Bouwers; niece, Karla VanKooten; great-nieces, Katie Jo VanKooten and Emily Van Dam; and great-nephew, Benjamin VanKooten.
