MARGARET MEREDITH BRINKMEYER was born on March 27, 1946 to William and Olena (Westli) Hawbecker in Pipestone, Minnesota. She was raised on the family farm west of Holland, Minnesota. She began her schooling in Holland and then continued her education in Pipestone, Minnesota. Growing up, she helped take care of her eleven siblings. After school she worked various jobs in Pipestone and Worthington, Minnesota. She later took a job in the therapy department at the Good Samaritan Community in Pipestone. In 1975, she began dating Harold Brinkmeyer and on February 7, 1976 the couple was married at St. James Lutheran Church in Holland. They made their home two miles west of Holland. Margaret helped on the farm, cared for the children and became the glue of the family farming operation. She raised her kids and grandkids to be strong in their faith, hardworking, and always caring for others. On Friday, April 30, 2021 after having just delivered a meal to the guys in the field, Margaret was involved in an automobile – UTV accident. On Sunday, May 2, 2021, surrounded by her family at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Margaret went to her home in heaven at the age of 75 years, one month and six days.

Margaret was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Holland where she volunteered and cooked for the kids in bible school. She always looked towards the annual girls shopping trip. More than anything her passion was to be the caregiver of everyone, especially her family. She loved baking, cooking, bringing meals to the field, mowing, caring for grandkids and anything else she could do to help. She was patient and always put others before herself. She was a humble servant to her family and to her Lord.

Her spirit will be carried forward by her husband of 46 years, Harold; three children, Brenda (Corey) Furst of Draper, Utah, Katie (Michael) Wiese of Pipestone, and Matthew (Kelly) Brinkmeyer of Holland; six grandchildren, Samantha Furst, Madelyn, Carmen and Benett Wiese, Tate and Aleryn Brinkmeyer; seven siblings, Effie Huebner, Bill Hawbecker, Barb Adams, Joe Hawbecker, Virgil Hawbecker, Betty Monday, and Deb Hawbecker; many nieces and nephews; and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her four brothers, Raymond, Melvin, Charles, and Robert Hawbecker; parents, William and Olena Hawbecker; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Gladys Brinkmeyer; and brother-in law, Alvin Brinkmeyer.

Memorials are preferred to Holland Fire Department, Holland First Responders, or the St. James Lutheran Church in Holland.
