Marian J. Trigg

October 18, 1926 — April 19, 2019

MARIAN JEAN TRIGG was born to Linzy Wilson and Anna Maria (Bruns) Trigg on October 18, 1926 at her aunt’s house in Trosky, Minnesota. She lived on a farm near Colman, South Dakota until 1930, when she moved with her parents to a farm by Verdi, Minnesota. She attended school in Verdi until she was halfway through the eighth grade. At that time, she moved with her parents to Nunda, South Dakota where Marian helped on the family farm. Three years later, they moved to a farm by Flandreau, South Dakota. A year later, they moved to a farm south of Elkton, South Dakota. In March, 1947, they moved to an acreage by Verdi. During this time, Marian worked at the bakery in Pipestone, Minnesota for over 26 years. When the bakery closed she became employed at Midtex in Brookings, South Dakota, where she worked on electrical relays for almost six years. She then began working as the bookkeeper at Clipper Oil in Lake Benton. She continued in this capacity for over 12 years until she retired. After her retirement, she moved to Lake Benton in 1998. Marian continued to live in her home in Lake Benton until 2013, when she moved to the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone. Marian died peacefully on Good Friday, April 19, 2019, at the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone at the age of 92 years, six months, and one day.

While living in Verdi, Marian attended the Verdi United Methodist Church. After she moved to Lake Benton, she attended the United Methodist Church there. She was a member of the Extension Club. Marian enjoyed collecting coins, and she liked to sew.

She is lovingly remembered by her one brother, Robert (Lorraine) Trigg of Verdi, Minnesota; one sister, Darlene Meyer of Pipestone, Minnesota; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Trigg and Jean Trigg; brother-in-law, Larry Whitaker; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
