September 8, 1925 — July 7, 2015

MARJORIE MARIE (KORTUEM) LESLIE was born on September 8, 1925 to John and Delores (Detterman) Kortuem in Long Prairie, Minnesota. She grew up and attended school through the 8th grade in the Long Prairie area. While there, Marjorie met James Skyberg and on October 18, 1942 the two were united in marriage in Rock Rapids, Iowa and the marriage was blessed with seven children. The family lived in Jasper, Minnesota until 1951 when they moved to Columbia Falls, Montana. In 1955, Jimmy was killed in a logging accident and the family moved back to the Jasper area shortly after that. In 1957, Marjorie met Leo Leslie and later that year the two were united in marriage on December 16, 1957. This union was blessed with four children. Marjorie and Leo resided in Jasper their entire lives together. For a time, she worked at the Glass House in Ihlen, Minnesota, at the Jasper Municipal Bar, at the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone, and later at Sunrise Village in Jasper. She was also a pull-tab manager for the Jasper Lions Club until her eyesight declined. In 2013, Marjorie became a resident at the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone in Pipestone, Minnesota where she passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the age of 89 years, nine months, and 29 days.

Marjorie was a member of Jasper Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jasper where she was a part of the Women of the ELCA. She was active with the Lions Club and was a past Boy Scout leader for Pack 84.
