Myrna Joyce Bisch. . .

was born to Herman and Marie (Jurgens) Posorske on July 24, 1928 in Worthington, Minnesota. She was raised on a farm in Nobles County, Minnesota where she attended country school in District 22. She was baptized on September 23, 1928 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Worthington Minnesota, and she was confirmed there on May 25, 1947. After her graduation from Round Lake High School in 1945, she worked at Sav-Mor Grocery Store, Gambles, and Gramac’s Clothing store in Worthington. On June 10, 1951, Myrna married Don Bisch at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brewster and this union was blessed with three daughters. Following their marriage, they moved to Pipestone, Minnesota. While living in Pipestone, Myrna worked for Silverberg’s Clothing and the S&L Store. When she and Don purchased the Gambles store in Pipestone in 1968, she worked with her husband at the store until their retirement in 1994. Following their retirement, they enjoyed their summers at Eden Acres on Lake Mary near Alexandria, Minnesota. After Don preceded her in death on June 28, 2008, Myrna spent many hours volunteering at the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone and was named volunteer of the year in 2004. Myrna continued to live in her own home. She passed away peacefully at her home while surrounded by family on Thursday, September 13, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 90 years, one month, and 19 days.

Myrna was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone where she was active in the SGA, taught Sunday school, was on the Board of Education, was a member of the LWML, and helped with the Vacation Bible School for many years. She was also a member of the Michael Boock American Legion Post 6 Auxiliary in Pipestone. While she was raising her daughters, she spent many hours as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She and her husband enjoyed traveling, and they went to Europe three times. She was an avid reader and loved her word find books. She also enjoyed flowers and tending to her flower garden. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Sharon (Arlan) Redepenning of Madison, Minnesota. Pam Bisch of Pipestone, Minnesota, and Donna (Fernando) Murillo of Madison, Wisconsin; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Grant) Vis of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Gregory Redepenning of Cuyahogo Falls, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Braylon and Xander Vis; one sister-in-law, Barb (Wally) Kolsrud of Lakeville, Minnesota; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents; one brother, Edward Posorske; three sisters, Phyllis Posorske, Barb (Leo) Koster, and Mary Ann (Art) Wildeman.
