Norman Elroy Everett

November 3, 1932 — December 23, 2013

NORMAN ELROY EVERETT was born on November 6, 1932 to Frank and Sigrid (Hauglid) Everett in Eden Township. He was a member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jasper, Minnesota where he was baptized on November 27, 1932 and confirmed on April 14, 1946. He grew up on the family farm in Eden Township. He attended grade school in District 26 in Eden Township. He then attended Jasper High School through his sophomore year. After school he worked on the farm and for various neighbors until 1953 when he entered the Army in January. He spent some time in Alaska and was a member of the Battery A 502 Anti Aircraft Artillery Battalion.

After his time in the Army he worked for Earhart Electric in Jasper. In the late 1950s Norman moved to the Milwaukee area and worked for Alberti Electric until 1963. At that time he moved back to the family farm and farmed there with his brother, Merlyn and did some electrical work as well. At this time he received his certification as a master electrician. Norman had part ownership of P + J Electric, which had its office in Jasper. After he sold his share of the business to Olsen Electric out of Pipestone he continued to go out on some service calls. For 17 years Norm and Les worked together at Everett Electric. In 2008 he semi-retired and continued to live at his place in rural Jasper. Norman enjoyed many fishing trips to Canada with his friends. He continued to do some mowing to help out his nephew and also mowed at the North Eden Cemetery near Ihlen with his brothers. Norman was a member of the American Legion Post #478 in Hardwick, Minnesota. On December 23, 2013 Norman died at his home in rural Jasper at the age of 81 years, 1 month, and 17 days.

Norman had a special bond with his nieces and nephews and loved spending time with them. Norman had the uncanny Everett Uncle knack of relating to kids. All of his nieces and nephews have the same memory of him taking the time to play with each of them, connecting with them, and razzing them in only the best of ways. Norman will be missed by many friends that knew him.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Ivan, Clair, Merlyn, and Neil.
Norman is survived by three brothers, Howard (Jo) Everett of rural Jasper, Leslie (Ruth) Everett of Pipestone, Minnesota, and Paul (Marian) Everett of Pipestone; one sister Eileen (Jerry) Engstrom of Naperville, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
