Phyllis "Pat" Bentson

PHYLLIS "PAT" PATRICIA BENTSON was born to George and Martha (Martin) Hale on September 23, 1928 in Elysian, Minnesota where she was raised and attended school. Following her education, she moved to Windom, Minnesota. On November 10, 1953 Pat was united in marriage to Vernon Bentson in Mankato, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Windom, Minnesota for the next 17 years where they raised their four children. In 1970, they moved to Luverne, Minnesota. In 1979, Pat and Vernon divorced. In Luverne, Pat was employed at Mary Jane Brown Home as a kitchen aide. She then worked at Luverne Community Hospital as a CNA in the nursery until 1985 when she moved to Robbinsdale, Minnesota. While in Robbinsdale, Pat worked in a nursing home and later babysat in her home. In 1985, Pat retired and moved back to Luverne and resided at the Blue Mound Tower apartments for the next 27 years. In 2010, Pat became a resident of the Tuff Memorial Home in Hills, Minnesota, where on Thursday, September 17, 2020, she died peacefully at the age of 91 years, 11 months and 24 days.

Pat is very lovingly remembered by her four children, Charles (Roxy) Bentson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Kenneth Bentson of Sioux Falls, Sandra (Tom) Bush of Hills, and Debra Piller (special friend, Phillip Flaten) of Mission, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Jeff (special friend, Kayla) Bentson, Jennifer (Tommy) Hurtgen, Emily Bentson, Taylor Bentson, Jacob Bentson, Angela (T.J.) Newgard, Stacy (Brittian) Bush, and Miranda (Keith) Lutz; six great-grandchildren, Aliyah, Evan, Emma, Bode, Molly and Garrett; three step-great-grandchildren, Nyla, Chesney and Daphne; brothers, Walter “Bud” of San Diego, California and Bob of Hastings, Minnesota; along with many nieces, nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Martha; sisters, Snooks, Betty, Georgeann, and Nola; brothers, George and Richard; and son-in-law, Wayne Piller.

Pat will be remembered for her never-ending love for her family.
