Robert "Bob" Hatting

Robert “Bob” Clemens Hatting was born on April 12, 1938 to Clem and Margaret (Roth) Hatting in Ashton, Iowa. When Bob was two years old his family moved to Luverne, Minnesota, where he spent the rest of his life. He graduated from Luverne High School in 1956. Following graduation, he worked at Hatting Gravel Company. On August 28, 1971 he was united in marriage to Lois Binford at Grace United Methodist Church in Moorhead, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Luverne. In 1977, he took a job at the Farmer’s Union Co-op where he worked until his retirement in 2009. On January 26, 2011 Bob passed away peacefully at the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage at the age of 72 years, 9 months and 14 days.

Bob was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne. He enjoyed woodworking, drawing and painting, collecting model cars, and watching the Barrett-Jackson collector car auction on television.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lois; two daughters, Deb Hill and her husband, Steve, of Cook, MN, Shawn Flegel and her husband, Rob, of Willmar, MN; three step-children, Connie Berseth and her husband, Brian, of St. Cloud, MN, Gregg Mulvihill and his wife, Suzanne, of Cheyenne, WY, and Darcy Mulvihill of Rogers, MN; 10 grandchildren; six siblings, Marilyn Holland of Tempe, AZ, Patricia (Jim) Phillips of Tempe, AZ, Clem Jr. “Butch” Hatting and his wife, Vickie, of Luverne, Sandy Heck and her husband, Steve, of Luverne, Jim Hatting and his wife, Carol, of Luverne, and Joni Farmer and her husband, Tony, of Tyler, Texas; and other family. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Bovitz; his parents; and a sister, Alanna “Loni” Hatting.

Memorials are preferred to the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage.
